The Big Cheese

For the past week everyone has been discussing which Superhero is most Super. So now its your turn to choose and defend one of the following classic characters (Sorry I didn't include The Tick but he would have won for obvious reasons) and state your logical reason as to why you like him best:

:superman: The guy who hasn't updated his costume or hair for the past century. Still ... he has the coolest symbol!
:batman: Breaking the mold for the first time in superhero history, he put most villains to shame with his dark attire. He also has the Batmobile.
:spidey: Displaying the webslinging action most people have come to know and love. Where this science geek got the skills to sew is beyond me.

Happily, there are a decent amount of interesting video games being released this year. Unfortunately most of them aren't multiplayer but oh well.

- Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Tales of the Abyss
- Dirge of Cerberus
- Valkyrie Profile 2
- Tales of Destiny (Woo hoo, finally! And it's for PS2 - a console I actually own.) :shakefist: @ handhelds.

:superman: ...I mean come on...the dude can fly around the world so fast that he can go back in time! Not to mention he doesn't implode or freeze when he flies in outer space! He's got heat vision, x-ray vision, and can freeze things with his breath. So what if he's allergic to some extraterrestrial jewelry? You know how hard it is to find kryptonite?

However, I think that :spidey: is the coolest, and has the coolest powers...even if it is a little creepy (eight legged freaks)

and...:batman:...yeah...some rich dude without any superpowers who keeps an old man and a young boy (in tights) locked away in a cave. *shrug* You do the math!

:peace:

Nidoran FTW!
Ghost Rider - only because Nicolous Cage is playing as him in the movie. lol (I dunno anything about the actual character :( ) that movie looks pretty good IMO.

Marvel - Beast(x men) - shouldn't require an explanation. He's freakin' beast!

DC - Robin(Teen Titans Version) - like batman, has no superpowers, but has cooler gadgets. and a cool ride.
:superman: Points taken. Albiet in Smallville, Clark seems to encounter kryptonite quite frequently.

:spidey: I was never a Spidey fan and remain completely flummoxed as to why everyone likes him best. Sure he has the coolest outfit, but the cartoon and all its characters were hardly amusing.

:batman: WHY DOES NOBODY LIKE HIM?!?! I like Batman. Maybe its because Batman was the only cartoon/movie my cousins and I could watch. Superman skipped my generation and Spiderman was on the rich kids channel. I like Batman cause he looks evil, and evil heros are number 1!
I say Spiderman is the best. I've seen enough old comic book covers to know that both Superman and Batman are major jerks. There are so many where Super man has lots of water and people are dying all around him from dehydration and he refuses to give them a drop. Batman was cool, but in the old comics, he seems to have some spanking fetish...he keeps spanking poor Robin! He even said as he did it. "One for now, one for later, and one to grow!" (I paraphrase) while Robin is saying "What did I do this time!?" (he was sleeping). Spiderman's cool, cuz he's not just an interesting hero, he's a bit of a jerk too, but an amusing jerk!

Spiderman is by far the best, he represents the greatest quality of humanity. He's on the fast track to becoming a brilliant chemist, but life hits him like a sack of radioactive spider filled bricks. Here's poor Peter Parker, his life thrown upside down and what does he do? He realizes that he has to step up to the plate, and be a hero. Obviously he could use his power for personal gain, but he always does the proper thing. Spiderman never plays judge or jury when dealing with the criminals and super villians (or executioner like Batman or the Punisher) he always brings them to the proper athorities to answer for their crimes. By allowing even the most foul of villians the rite of due process and the chance for proper civilized justice to be reached, he never stoops to the level of the petty thugs or criminals he helps put behind bars.

Batman is a vigilante, and very much a revenge driven psychopath. If his parents hadn't have been killed he'd have lived out his life as a spoiled rich kid who inherited his father's millions. Instead of working to better Gotham City and helping turn what is essentially a slum filled trainwreck of a place around, he just hunts for another crook to exact some terrible vengance upon for his parent's death. He enjoys what he does not because it helps society, it instead appeals to his sense of self satisfaction.

Superman isn't even a human. He just seems like an alien fascist overlord to me. Invincible save one petty weakness that just seems to really be in abundance on earth. I just can't relate to a hero who's hardly a mortal.

I also didn't re-read this. This is a raw salmon of a thought.
